PIES mooring

The Physical Oceanography Group (GOF) of the Institute of Oceanography and Global Change, during the week of November 13-19, has carried out the installation at sea of the two Pressure Echo Sounders (PIES) acquired for the MACCLIMA project. 

This equipment has been anchored in the north of the Canary Islands to obtain continuous data (blue dots on the map). During the campaign, the activation and anchoring of each of the equipments has been carried out.

During the next RAPROCAN campaigns, data will be retrieved, processed and analyzed to understand the transport of mass, heat and fresh water, fundamental aspects for the determination of the effects of climate change.
